Kings XI Punjab Friday recorded their first win in the second edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), defeating Bangalore Royal Challengers by seven wickets at the Newlands here.

Ravi Bopara made a scintillating 84 and Yuvraj Singh remained not out on 30 as Kings XI Punjab made 173 for three in 20 overs while chasing the victory target of 169.

Brief scores: Bangalore Royal Challengers 168/9 in 20 overs (Jacques Kallis 62, Ross Taylor 35; Yusuf Abdulla 4-31, Yusuf Pathan 3-35). Kings XI Punjab (Ravi Bopara 84, Yuvraj Singh 30 not out).
