Spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Thursday came out in favour of the India-US nuclear deal, saying it can 'augment sustainable energy sources'.

In a statement from Seattle, Ravi Shankar urged Indian political parties to 'rise above political differences' and support the contentious deal.

'At a time when the country is faced with severe energy shortage, the government has negotiated a nuclear deal with the US which can augment sustainable energy sources. All parties must support the deal that is beneficial to the country,' he said.
