Hollywood actress Kate Hudson says she will support her son Ryder in any career choice he makes, even if it is unconventional.

Kate says she was given the freedom to pursue any career by her mother Goldie Hawn and she wants to do the same for her son, reports contactmusic.com.

The actress said: 'If Ryder came to me and said, 'Mom, I want to pump gas better than anybody who has ever pumped gas', I wouldn't say, 'No, you're going to be a doctor'. It would be taking somebody's dream and passion and squashing it.

'The one thing I've learnt with Ryder is that the second you have children they're immediately who they are and your role as a parent is to nurture that and try to at least keep them on the right path, keep them grounded and give them unconditional love.'
