Beijing, May 23 (RIA Novosti) Russia's Sukhoi aircraft manufacturer is ready to cooperate with China in civilian aircraft development projects, the company said Friday.

'China has shown an interest in the modification of the Superjet 100 medium haul passenger airliner,' Mikhail Pogosyan, chief executive officer of Sukhoi, said.

'The Chinese market is so vast that [we] have a good chance of finding potential customers without competing with China's ARJ-21 regional airliner programme,' he added.

The Superjet 100 project is a family of medium-range passenger aircraft developed by the Sukhoi design bureau in cooperation with major American and European aviation corporations, including Boeing, Snecma, Thales, Messier Dowty, Liebherr Aerospace, and Honeywell.
