Strong quake jolts Tibet

An earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale jolted the Baingoin County in China's Tibet region Sunday, the National Seismological Network said.

The quake occurred at 20.47 p.m. Sunday, it said.

The epicentre was located at some 370 km from the Baingoin County, a sparsely populated area.

No reports of damage or casualty have been reported so far.
