Several blasts rock China's Kuqa county

Several explosions rocked the Kuqa county early Sunday in China's southern region of Xinjiang Uygur, a witness said.

There were no immediate reports of casualties. The cause of the blasts is not yet known.

The explosions occurred between 3.20 a.m. and 4.00 a.m. in downtown Kuqa in Xinjiang, according to the witness. Gunshots were also heard after the blasts.

The cause of the blasts is being investigated by police.

Kuqa is the most populous county of the Aksu prefecture, with a population of 400,000.
