Judoka Divya knocked out of Olympics

From correspondents in Beijing, China, 10:30 PM IST

Indian judokas' challenge came to a dismal end in the 29th Olympic Games with Divya Tewar going down to Yalennis Castillo of Cuba in the 78kg Category here Thursday.

Divya's fight was over in just 13 seconds as she finished on the wrong side of a 1000-0 scoreline. Divya, whose selection to the Olympics sparked strong protests, got a quota place for the Beijing Olympics by earning points at the Asian Championships in 2007.

The other judoka, Tombi Khumujam Devi, was knocked out in the preliminary round of the women's 48kg event last week.
