The ruler of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, has pardoned 133 prisoners on the occasion of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.

Those pardoned are of various nationalities and have served half of their prison terms and shown good conduct at the Sharjah corrective and punitive establishments, according to the official Emirates News Agency (WAM).
