Indian movie director Priyadarshan has joined the bandwagon in slamming Danny Boyle's underdog saga 'Slumdog Millionaire' and has called the film a 'cheap trashy mediocre version' of erstwhile Bollywood hits.9:00 AM on February 01
The original story by Vikas Swaroop, is absolutely brilliant and so is the acting by the children (not the teenagers or the adults). The above are the only good things and worthy of awards. In all honesty the Screen-play is an affront and insult to every Indian and the Hindu and the Muslim Religions alike. The children have been treated like an attraction in a Zoo (come and photograph them, expoit them-they will be here hundred years from now,) that is the attitude of the Producers, the Director and the Screen-writer. It has cost the Producers more to rent a tuxedo than what they have paid these incredible child actors who are back in the Slum-for the next Film Maker to photograph them, insult them, and exploite them. It costs fifty rupees a day to feed a child. When they are fed they will be able to work and cloth themselves and get their family out of the slums and the slums will disapear. The Producers should give back every cent in profit to the feed the children-anything else is a criminal exploitation.
