Rahman's Oscar wins give Bollywood big reason to celebrate

Indian music maestro A.R. Rahman's wife used to wake up in the middle of the night and say 'I want you to win an Oscar'. Now he has won two. It's not only her dream that has turned into reality at the 81st annual Academy Awards, it's a milestone for Bollywood too.10:00 AM on February 23

I have some observations share of how everyone were interacting during various award ceremonies for this movie. A. R. Rahaman is a class by himself. He conducted himself well. My observations of Anil Kapoor's behavior is clearly commercial. He completely ignored Ifran Khan and put himself in the forefront. In fact his role in the movie was not pivotal. He should be gracious in allowing other actors to come to the forefront and include them in conversations. It is the movie on the slum dwellers and I wanted to hear and see sensitivity and respect toward the poor and innocent people who allowed their poverty to be seen by the whole world. They deserve respect, dignity and I did not hear any reference to the poor people of Mumbai and thank them. The poor people's poverty should not be exploited. Anil Kapoor is in a position to do just that. He should be as an Indian speak well of the poor in clear and succinct way. I hope he and others will find opportunities to do just that. Ifran Khan was totally ignored. World wide recognition comes not often, we as Indians should be aware of it and demonstrate the best in our culture. Such observations go a long way.
