Japan may soon open its gates to Indian primary schoolteachers specialising in mathematics. For, the Japanese believe that Indians are the best in the world when it comes to teaching this subject.10:01 AM on February 04
It is highly flattering to see the title of the news and its first para presentation. The Japanese, let us get it right for once, are not only great engineers, doctors, technologists, but also mathematicians, since without math where is modern science and technology in which they are an example even to the West. If, then, they want Indian schoolteachers to teach math, the main reason is simply that there is a scarcity in this field, as it is true of a few other areas as well. Moreover, advanced math, which is essential for advanced science and technology, they understand, should not be a free-for-all, such as higher education is sought to be made in India.
adam Thursday, April 10, 2008dude this guy got some of his facts wrong. the reason why math and science are important here cus thats where the money has been. engineers to biopharm needs math always. it doctors engineers then merchants then law. top four career paths. japanese kids could care less because they have everything they need from mommy daddy. why put the effort when its all there. we indians need these jobs to be successful in life, that dont apply with japan.
