The country's largest small car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki has posted a net profit of Rs.17.89 billion for the financial year 2008 as compared to Rs.15.88 billion for the previous year.

The total income of the auto giant for the financial year has increased from Rs.154.89 billion for the year ended March 31, 2007 to Rs.191.12 billion this year.

However, the company has posted a decline in net profit at Rs.2.97 billion for the quarter ended March 31, 2008, down from Rs.4.48 billion for the same period last year.

Total income has increased from Rs.46.36 billion for the quarter ended March 31, 2007 to Rs.50.69 billon for the quarter ended March 31, 2008.
