Now video rental business goes corporate

The video rental business, dominated for years by the neighbourhood shop around the corner, is now drawing big corporates - a move that makes watching movies at home easier and promises to cut down piracy.12:02 PM on May 15

Home video essentially is for viewing in a relaxed homely atmosphere, basically with kids and parents sitting together or alone. There is ample scope in India for the Ambanis to create a market in the dormant home market, now catered to only by silly TV channel shows and cheap unorganized mkt.stuff. PRODUCE WHOLESOME ENTERTAINMENT AND VALUE STIRRING VIDEOS AND SELL AT LOW RATES,rather like what Moesbaer is doing with old films using good software and discs.

The Indian home video industry for its future growth strategy should know that India is like, and unlike, the US. Culturally we are NOT as permissive as the US,but a new trend is setting in to copy the west here, when we should give something to the US from our heritage for their elevation.OTH,we SHOULD introduce lots, lots of imaginatively produced educative home videos and entertainment shd.concentrate on inculcating in our youth valour, gallantry, chastity, and other noble qualities using stories.Porn like and crime thrillers so popular in the West must be eschewed, and these are available in plenty in the grey market, even on TV, and in most of our thirdrate cinema financed by underworld.
