From liquor sales to book sales, it was indeed like spiritual transformation for the shopkeeper. More importantly, he should have realized that satisfying the thirst for knowledge by selling books was a spiritual elevation for him in this birth, which he would have denied himself if he chose to continue liquor sales encouraging street brawls and germinating a variety of antisocial activities and unsocial evils in which most of our politicians are expert.
