Jet Airways Saturday launched its daily Mumbai-Shanghai-San Francisco flight, becoming the first Indian private carrier to operate to China.

The airline's executive director Saroj Datta launched the flight from Mumbai early in the morning.

This is the fourth long-haul route started by Jet Airways to North America in less than a year.

Datta said with the introduction of its service to San Francisco via Shanghai, the airline would continue its expansion plan to various North American cities.
