Nokia Siemens to invest Rs.3 billion in Tamil Nadu

The Netherlands-based communication firm Nokia Siemens Networks B.V. will set up a Rs.3-billion plant at Oragadam near here.

The company signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the state government to this effect Thursday in the presence of Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi.

The investment will be made over three years. The project is expected to offer direct employment to 400 people.

Handset manufacturers Nokia and Motorola have already established their plants near Chennai.
