Indian equity markets stayed in the green early Wednesday afternoon, with buying interest in realty, metal and capital goods stocks.

At 1:40 p.m., the 30-share benchmark index of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the Sensex, was at 14,652.32 points, up 108.59 points or 0.75 percent from its closing figure Tuesday. It had touched a high of 14,703.57 earlier Wednesday.

At the same time the broader based S and amp;P CNX Nifty index of the National Stock Exchange was up by 45.85 points or 1.05 percent at 4,414.10.

The market breadth was positive. On BSE, 1,661 shares advanced, 850 declined and 78 remained unchanged.
