Indian equities open on positive note

Indian equities opened on a positive note Monday after three successive days of losses last week that had seen a key index dip to the four-digit level for the first time in over two years.

The sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange was ruling at 10,121.07 points, some 10 minutes into trading, after opening at 10,160.47 points, against the previous close at 9,975.35 points.

At the present level, the barometer 30-share index was ruling with a gain of 172.68 points, or 1.73 percent.

At the National Stock Exchange, the broader 50-share S and amp;P CNX Nifty index was up 0.75 percent at 3,097.40 points.
