Tata Communications revenue up 22 percent

Tata Communications has announced a 22 percent rise in revenue for the second quarter of 2008-09.

In a regulatory statement, the company said its revenues for the quarter ended Sep 30 grew to Rs.9.84 billion from Rs.8.04 billion in the year-ago period.

Tata's earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) increased 31 percent to Rs.2.21 billion in the same quarter.

Revenues grew 11 percent to Rs.18.47 billion in the first six months this fiscal. However, the EBITDA was a tad lower at Rs.4.14 billion compared to Rs.4.15 billion in the corresponding period last year.
