Anil Ambani group snaps ties with chopper maintenance firm

From correspondents in Maharashtra, India, 12:00 PM IST

The Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG) has cancelled the maintenance contract of its Bell 412 helicopter with aircraft maintenance firm Air Works India, according to an airport source.

When contacted, an official of ADAG confirmed the development Wednesday morning, but decline to elaborate.

However, the official spokesman for Air Works denied the development.

Air Works has been overseeing the maintenance of Ambani's 13-seater, twin-engined helicopter since 2006. Last Thursday, company technician Bharat Borge chanced upon pebbles and stones in the chopper's fuel tank during a routine maintenance check.

The police was immediately informed on suspicion of sabotage.

In a mysterious turn of events, Borge's body was found near the railway tracks in the Vile Parle suburb Tuesday morning.
