Indian equities markets closed in the green Thursday, with a key index shutting shop about 154 points higher on renewed buying activity.
The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 12,064.51 points, rose 153.84 points or 1.29 percent from the previous close to end trade at 12,106.59 points (provisional).
Similarly, the S and amp;P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) gained 1.51 percent to close at 3,679.65 points.
Broader market indices also gained, with the BSE midcap index moving up 2.84 percent, while the BSE smallcap index was up 2.82 percent.
