Sensex still in the red, down 63 points

Indian equities markets continued to be under selling pressure Tuesday with a key index ruling 63 points down about a little over an hour before the closing bell Tuesday.

Around 2.17 p.m., the benchmark index of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the Sensex, which opened at 14,147.87 points, was trading at 14,262.9 points - 63.32 points or 0.44 percent lower than Monday's close.

Similarly, the S and P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) lost 0.19 percent to stand at 4,227.2 points.

Broader market indices too gave up gains, with the BSE midcap index losing 0.86 percent from its previous close, while the BSE smallcap index slid 1.37 percent.
