Actor Ashton Kutcher has hit out at critics who described his relationship with a 15 years older Demi Moore as a publicity stunt to boost his career.

Recalling the negative reactions to his relationship when they started out in 2003, Kutcher, 30, now laughs at those reports saying that his career was fine at that time and did not need a publicity gimmick, contactmusic.com reports.

He said: 'I remember people thinking we were together for commercial reasons, but I don't think I gave a s**t. My career was doing fine when I met Moore.'

Moore was married to actor Bruce Willis and had a three daughters with him.
