Indian community in Belgium condemns Jaipur blasts

From correspondents in Brussels, Belgium, 06:00 PM IST

The Indian community in Belgium Wednesday condemned the bomb blasts in Rajasthan's Jaipur city that killed at least 63 people Tuesday night, EuAsiaNews reported.

Sunil Prasad, president of GOPIO (Global Organisation of People of Indian Origin) in Belgium, said in a statement: 'It is a crime against humanity.'

'Such heinous attacks aimed at terrorising people have absolutely no place in the civil society,' said Prasad, secretary general of the Europe India Chamber of Commerce.

'We sympathise with all those who have lost a loved one and pray that the families who are affected in any way will be provided with the necessary solace and relief.'

He called upon the central government and the Rajasthan government to act expeditiously to bring to book all those involved in this heinous act.

He urged the political parties from across the spectrum to stop indulging in petty politicking and desist from activities that may endanger the secular fabric and damage the pluralistic framework of India.
