Thierry Henry considers retiring after Euro

From correspondents in Paris, France, 03:30 PM IST

France's star striker Thierry Henry is considering ending his international career after next month's Euro, media reports said.

The 31-year-old was quoted as saying by Friday's L'Equipe said that his age was the reason why he was considering retiring, as age was very important for strikers. 'I have thought of retiring after Euro.'

The Barcelona striker is the top scorer for the Les Bleus (France) with 44 goals in 99 matches. He believes his side, who will be facing the Netherlands, Italy and Romania in the first round, are amongst the favourites for the Euro title.

'We are capable of winning, but we need to take our first game against Romania very seriously,' he said.
