Rocker John Mayer has slammed the popular videogame Guitar Hero because he feels it does not provide the thrill that playing the guitar gives.

Mayer has urged fans to learn to play the guitar instead of using the game to get the experience, reports contactmusic.com.

He said: 'Guitar Hero was devised to bring the guitar-playing experience to the masses without them having to put anything into it. And having done both, there's nothing like really playing the guitar. I mean, what would you rather drive, a Ferrari or one of those amusement park cars on a track?'
