Troubled British singer Amy Winehouse has fired her hairdresser and close friend Alex Fodden since her management wants her to get rid of anyone who could have a negative influence.

Fodden had been arrested along with Winehouse and her husband Blake Fielder-Civil on suspicion of possessing drugs. Winehouse is presently appealing a fine in connection with her conviction, reports contactmusic.com.

A spokesperson for Winehouse said: 'Fodden is no longer a hairdresser for Amy. Her management doesn't feel the need to say why.'
