Pamela Anderson, the former 'Baywatch' star, was joking when she used ugly epithets for pop singer Jessica Simpson for wearing a t-shirt that promoted meat, claims her representative.

Contactmusic.com reports, Anderson is an ardent animal rights activist and was upset that Simpson actually wore a shirt saying - 'Real Girls Eat Meat'.

Anderson has unleashed her fury on Simpson with a string of insults. She told a radio station: 'I think she is a bitch and whore. Actually, I don't know if she was talking about food or men.'

But Anderson's representative has come to her defence, insisting the star's comments were meant in jest.

'She was joking,' said the spokesperson.
