Rock singer Sheryl Crow is determined to keep the men she dates away from her son so that she can prevent him from feeling abandoned if she breaks up.

Contactmusic.com reports that the 46-year-old adopted her son Wyatt last May. She is trying to be very selective about the men she dates because her son has problems letting go of the friendships created with the families of her former boyfriends.

Crow said: 'My son has met everybody that comes in the door. Right now it is easy. But I will always be cautious about that. I got introduced to some kids very, very early on and you form an attachment. I think it's hard for the kids and it's definitely hard for me. I don't want Wyatt to have that experience - to feel like people are coming and going from his life.'
