Lynne Spears, the mother of troubled pop star Britney Spears, has revealed that the singer lost her virginity at 14 and started taking drugs at 15.

In her memoir 'Through The Storm', Lynne says she regrets giving control of her daughter's career to others who turned her into a sex object in raunchy videos at a young age. She also believes that most of Britney's problems find their roots in her teenage life.

Britney was supposedly consuming alcohol when she joined Disney's Mickey Mouse Club. And she first experimented with drugs when she went to Los Angeles to record her debut album 'Baby One More time', reports thesun.co.uk.

In her book, which is set to be released Sep 16, Lynne admitted that she let her daughter sleep with pop superstar Justin Timberlake when she was just 16.

A source said: 'Lynne thought Britney was in love and Justin was good for her.'
