Doherty not to give fans songs for free

From correspondents in London, England, 02:00 PM IST

Troubled British rocker Pete Doherty will not release music for free on the Internet any more since he has to pay off a lot of debts.

Doherty revealed that he will charge fans for his upcoming album and release of any track online, reports ananova.com.

Doherty said: 'Unfortunately, the bailiffs have come knocking quite a lot so I've got to (charge money for the album). In the past everything I've recorded on my own and stuck music on the Internet for nothing. This time I'm going to hold it back for a bit and put it on an album rather than give it away because of the bailiffs.'

He also hinted that his new album could be out by the end of this year, saying: 'Hopefully by Christmas everything will be wrapped, recorded and mastered.'
