The bosses of Emmy Award-winning American medical drama series "ER" want to bring back Hollywood superstar George Clooney on the show for its last series.

The producers want to bring Clooney back with a number of other stars like Noah Wyle, Laura Innes, Anthony Edwards and Paul McCrane from earlier seasons already slated to return, reports thesun.co.uk.

Clooney achieved initial stardom when he was selected to play Dr. Doug Ross on the drama from 1994 to 1999.

David Zabel from the show has said storylines have already been thought for all of "ER"'s main characters, including Clooney's for its 15th and final series.

He also revealed he was 'optimistic that we might be able to get them all".

However, Clooney's publicist insists he is not returning to televsion, explaining, "It is something he has already done. He is busy making movies.'
