'X-Factor' stars to release song for charity

From correspondents in London, England, 01:00 PM IST

The stars of British reality TV show "X-Factor" are set to release a single to raise money for the army charity 'Help For Heroes'.

The performers who make it to the final 12 will sing for wounded troops, reports thesun.co.uk. The Mariah Carey song "Hero' will be the first charity song to be recorded and show boss and record producer Simon Cowell is keen to make it a No.1 song.

An inside source said: "I've never heard Simon more excited about anything - there's a real buzz about this single. It's going to blow everyone away when they hear it."

The founder of the charity said: "Everyone is thrilled to hear that the 'X Factor' is supporting our boys and girls. We hope that Sun readers will do their bit to make this a hit single and demonstrate that we really care."

The charity has so far raised 12 million pounds to help rehabilitate injured troops.
