Teen heartthrob Zac Efron, the star of hit movie 'High School Musical', had to clarify to his mom that he was not dead after a foreign newspaper reported so.

According to thesun.co.uk, a foreign newspaper had reported that he had died.

The 20-year old Efron said: 'I was really shocked to find out and my mom was real upset too when I called and told her.'

The third film in the series of 'High School Musical' premiered in London recently. Efron features as Troy who plays for the school's sports team and has to decide between acting and basketball in the movie.
