Celine Dion pays tribute to Danny Gans

From correspondents in London, England, 07:30 PM IST

Singer Celine Dion paid tribute to late entertainer Danny Gans, calling the Las Vegas showman 'the best in his field'.

Gans died at his home in Vegas Friday morning and Dion is still reeling from the news of her friend's demise, reported contactmusic.com.

'I'm very, very sad, and completely shocked to hear the news about Danny. (My husband) Rene and I have loved him very much since the first time we saw him and met him at the Rio (casino) in 1997,' said Dion.

'Not only was he the best in his field, but he was such a kind and loving person,' she added.

The singer and comedian moved to Las Vegas 1996 and became one of gambling mecca's most popular performers.
