Former publicist sues Michael Jackson

From correspondents in London, England, 01:00 PM IST

Pop legend Michael Jackson's former publicist Raymone Bain has sued the singer for 30 million pounds ($45 million).

Bain filed a suit after Jackson failed to pay for her services. She has filed the papers in a Washington, D.C. Court, reported contactmusic.com.

The spokeswoman was a regular face on news shows during Jackson's child molestation trial, constantly supporting the singer and defending him from media attacks.

Jackson's brother Randy terminated her employment in 2005 shortly before the singer was acquitted of all child molestation charges. She was re-hired in 2006.

But Bain has now terminated their working relationship, alleging the singer reneged on the financial terms of their longstanding agreement.

She claims her attempts to settle the dispute out of court have been snubbed and she has been forced to resort to taking legal action.
