Red wine good for nothing, say Indian doctors

Dismissing the widely held theory that red wine is good for health, leading Indian doctors Tuesday said that no one in the world has proved the positive side of either the red wine or any category of alcohol.6:33 PM on April 17

if there is anything about red wine that may be construed as heart-healthy it's merely by virtue of the fact that it can be relaxing. if relaxation is what you need, perhaps a glass of red wine is just the thing for you, but, over time resistance to the effects of an alcoholic drink can diminish, i.e., the same effect requires more alcohol. Then you are dealing with addiction. there are far healthier ways to learn to relax. a little wine now & then for a healthy person is not necessarily a bad thing. it can be good for you if the mentality that goes with it is a healthy one. if chocolate is liken to a reward for you then you are feeling good about yourself as you are 'deserving' the reward. so, anything which is not directly poisonous which produces a sense of well-being is healthy in moderation. if you ever come to depend on it to get that sense of well-being you are defeating the purpose. there are far better ways to produce a sense of well-being. more doctors should be promoting exercise and leading by example. it takes more than textbook knowledge & practical application to be a healer. but then most doctors aren't as interested in healing as they are in the Jaguar the practice affords. go figure.
