The Supreme court Friday suspended the arrest warrant issued against Hollywood actor Richard Gere by a Jaipur court in a case related to his kissing Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty at a public function last year.

Chief Justice K.G. Balakrishnan also suspended the Jaipur court's order that prevented Gere from entering or leaving India, saying: 'We are of the view that no offence is made out'.

The judge also scolded the complainant who had moved the Jaipur court against Gere, saying: 'You will file an application wherever somebody embraces somebody'.
