Police baton charge protesting teachers in Orissa

From correspondents in Orissa, India, 12:32 AM IST

At least a dozen agitating teachers sustained injuries after the police resorted to baton charge Monday when the protestors tried to enter the residence of Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to press their demands, the police said.

The teachers despite warning tried to enter the prohibited area, a senior district police official told IANS.

The teachers from private colleges across the state were demanding regularization of jobs and full government grants for their colleges.
