Hut catches fire in Maharashtra village, five dead

Five people, including two children, died early Wednesday in a Maharashtra village when their hut caught fire, the police said.

Three women and two small children, aged one and ten, were sleeping in their hut made of straw and wood in Manegaon village when the fire broke out around 1.30 a.m. The village is near Solapur town, around 200 km from here.

All of them died in the incident.

The police said they were investigating the cause of the blaze.
