Fire near Amritsar airport delays three flights

A fire in agricultural fields Thursday near the Rajasansi International Airport in Amritsar delayed three flights.

The fire, which started in the evening, soon came close to the airport runway forcing airport officials to order the closure of the runway.

Three flights, of Jet Airways and Air India, were delayed.

Airport fire tenders were rushed to the affected area to douse the fire in the fields and clear the runway for flight operations.
