Four blasts rock Jaipur, five killed

Four explosions rocked the walled city area of this historic city Tuesday evening, including at a well known eatery and near a temple. Five people are reported killed and 20 injured.

The first blast occurred at 7.35 p.m. in the popular Lakshmi Misthan Bhandar in the crowded Johri Bazar area. The second explosion was in the area of Manak Chowk police station, the third in Tripolia Bazar where a Hanuman temple is located. The temple was crowded as it is a Tuesday, eyewitnesses said. The fourth blast was in the Sanganeri Gate area, which is the main enterance to the old city.

The police, while confirming the blasts, have refused to confirm the casualties.

Television reports are reporting five blasts.
