Six booked for stamp duty fraud in Gujarat

A case for fraud was registered Tuesday against the former Jamnagar sub-registrar and five others for causing a loss of Rs.6.5 million to the state exchequer.

Former sub-registrar office in-charge M.J. Rajya Guru, who is at present posted at Jamjodhpur, in collusion with five others deliberately under-assessed stamp duties leading to a loss of Rs.6.5 million, the police complaint said.

Those named in the police complaint are all working at the sub-registrar office. They are J.M. Dave, K.S. Jadeja, B.J. Agrawal, Milan M. Pandya, and Ashish Shantilal.
