Bus runs over boy in Delhi

A 10-year-old boy was run over Thursday by a Blueline bus in west Delhi, the police said.

Nitin was on board the bus number 740 that plies between Uttam Nagar and Anand Vihar.

The bus stopped at Uttam Nagar terminal. The boy fell down while alighting from the bus which was then reversing and came under its wheels, a police official said.

Nitin, a resident of J.J. Colony on Pankha Road, was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

'The driver and the conductor of the bus are absconding and the bus has been impounded,' the official added.

In another accident late Wednesday, four people were injured when a Blueline bus rammed into three vehicles in west Delhi.

The bus plying between Manglapuri and Kashmiri Gate when it hit a cycle-rickshaw, a motor-cycle and a scooter.

'The driver has been arrested and the bus has been impounded,' a police official said.
