Two people from Amritsar in Punjab, were killed and two injured Saturday when the jeep they were travelling in collided with a truck in Fatehpur district of Uttar Pradesh, the police said.

The accident took place on the Grand Truck Road near Nauvabagh town of Fatehpur district, some 120 km from here.

Balvinder Singh alongwith three of his family members was travelling in a Scorpio when it collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction, a police official said.

'Efforts are on to nab the truck driver, who fled from the spot,' the police official said.

The injured have been taken to hospital, he added.
