Two elephants electrocuted

Two elephants were electrocuted Monday at a wildlife sanctuary in Jharkhand's Jamshedpur district.

The deaths took place at the Dalma sanctuary, around 130 km from Ranchi, said A.K. Gupta, the regional wildlife conservator of Singhbhum zone.

Nearly a dozen elephants have been electrocuted in the state in the last seven years. Jharkhand is home to 622 elephants according to the latest census count.
