Five killed in road accident in Jharkhand

Five people were killed and four injured as a Bolero vehicle carrying nine people collided with a truck in Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand Sunday, police said.

The accident occurred at around 3 p.m. near Demotand village on the Ranchi-Patna national highway. The victims, belonging to Biharsharif district in Bihar, were returning home after visiting Rajrappa temple in Ramgarh district.

Five people died on the spot. The condition of the two people who have been admitted to Hazaribagh sadar hospital is said to be serious. The driver of the truck was absconding.

Angry villagers blocked the national highway demanding compensation to the victims.
