A restaurant owner was shot dead in a market here by four men who the police believe were locked in a dispute with him over some land and shops.

Ram Kishan, 40, had a restaurant in Shah Ganj's Ram Nagar market. On Sunday evening he received a call on his mobile inviting him for a business discussion.

When he reached Bhontu Ram market, four people who were waiting for him opened fire, killing him instantly. One of his friends, Shashi, was wounded and is battling for life in a hospital.
