A forest department official, who was missing since July 5, was found dead by police here Thursday evening.

The body of Ajit Kumar Singh was found in the jungles of the Central Industrial Security Force campus in Indirapuram area near Sector 62 in Noida.

The victim's son Prashant Rathore, a senior official with a public sector utility, identified the body.

Singh had gone missing while on his way back home. He was reported to have taken an auto rickshaw for his home at Sector 23.

The police interrogated Ahmed, the main suspect, who later confessed to killing Singh with the help of three other men before dumping his body in Indirapuram area, police officials said.
