Jigmi Y. Thinley, the prime minister of Bhutan, one of the world's youngest democracy, arrives here on a four-day visit next week.

This is the first foreign visit of the Bhutanese prime minister since the country's transition to democracy this year from a 100-year-old monarchy.

In May, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh visited Bhutan and addressed the first democratically elected parliament.

"India and Bhutan share a very special relationship which has roots in our history and culture and has found new dynamism in mutually beneficial cooperation," said an external affairs ministry press release.

The Bhutanese delegation, which will arrive July 14, will include Minister of Economic Affairs Lyonpo Khandu Wangchuck, Foreign Affairs Minister Lyonpo Ugyen Tshering and Finance Minister Lyonpo Wangdi Norbu,

The visiting dignitary will have meetings with the top Indian executive and political leadership. The prime minister will host a state banquet in honour of the Bhutanese leader.
